SIPS Flat Pack Kits Garden Rooms

Do you dream of having a garden room, but can’t quite justify the expense or afford the finance? With SIPS flat pack kits, garden rooms are WAY more affordable and they don’t compromise on quality. Not when you buy from Garden Rooms Kits, Scotland.

Our team is well-versed in all types of garden buildings. In Scotland, SIPS are what you need, because, without them, you’d be chittering in the winter and scolding in the summer. SIPS stands for Structurally Insulation Panels and it is what makes garden rooms year-round rooms. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer; without hiking your energy costs. SIPS are your garden buildings' thermal insulation.

What’s Involved in Constructing a SIPS Panel Flat Pack Garden Room

Assembly – that is it!

SIPs flat packs from GardenRoomsKits.co.uk contain everything but the base. (and the DIY tools obviously). Expect the base to be the most time-consuming part of any DIY garden room. That is the part that really matters because it is the foundation of your building. Garden buildings are only as strong as the foundations they are built upon so if you aren’t confident with this aspect, consider hiring an experienced builder, or landscaper to handle this part.

Asides from laying a base, the only other requirement is basic carpentry skills and a second person to help construct the garden building. The rest can be done by following the steps in the installation manual provided.

The simplified process is this;

Lay the base and give it plenty of time to cure. If you don’t know, concrete dries in around 2-days, but it needs longer to cure to be sturdy enough to take the weight of a garden building. Recommended is to let a concrete base cure for around 4 weeks before building anything heavy on it. If you want to start building your garden room on the day or weekend of delivery, have the base ready well ahead of your delivery date.

Next is assembling the Skelton frame. All timber joists, materials for SIPS panels, construction kits, screws, and the required fittings to piece the garden room together are supplied with our SIPS flat pack kits for garden rooms. And everything is pre-cut to the specified sizes. Hence, you have no risk of miscalculating measurements, running low on materials, going over budget due to wastage of materials, or not having the right size of screw to hand.

The team at Garden Rooms Kits, Scotland has over a decade of experience working with multiple types of outdoor buildings so we know the quality of materials you’ll need to build a garden room that will be long-lasting.

Next up is the exterior and that’s to roof and clad it. Rubber EPDM roofing material will be included, as will your choice of exterior cladding. Again, detailed instructions are provided with each SIPS flat pack garden room.

Once assembled and finished, the garden room will be ready for use, or continue on to customise your build.

Why Choose Garden Rooms Kits, Scotland

When buying any garden room kit, it is essential that you know what you are getting. Unfortunately, not all vendors do a great job with descriptions. Some will include the construction materials for the Skelton frame and cladding to finish it, others provide the pre-fabricated SIPS panels with cuts made to fit doors and windows, but without the windows or doors.  On the budget side, included windows may be single-glazed or even Perspex and if roofing material is supplied, it may only be a roof felt.

At Garden Rooms Kits, Scotland, we take great care to ensure our kits are designed for performance year-round. That is why we include every component required for a quality garden room build.

  • EPDM rubber is provided for the roof as that is a high-performance material for thermal insulation and weather resistance.
  • Exterior cladding will either be composite or timber – you decide. Both last for decades. Longer for composite garden room kits.
  • Double French Door in an Anthracite finish, with an optional window available upon request.
  • All our garden rooms are cut to size, ready to assemble, and include all screws and fixings and detailed assembly instructions.

For a quality garden room on a budget without compromising on quality, our SIPS flat pack kit garden room is the way to go. Should you have any questions, please, do get in contact with us.
